Concrete Driveway Replacement
It's no surprise that the look and feel of your home can be improved by replacing an old, worn out concrete driveway. Whether you're in the market for a new driveway to increase curb appeal or simply upgrade an existing one, replacing an aging, cracked concrete driveway with a smooth and attractive surface is a great way to make a lasting impression on visitors and passersby. 

But before you begin cutting out the old concrete, there are a few important steps that should be taken in order to ensure a successful installation. Here's an overview of what needs to be done to ensure your new driveway is installed correctly:

1. Remove the Existing Driveway – The first step in replacing an existing concrete driveway is to remove all of the old material. This can typically be done with a jackhammer or other heavy duty equipment, though smaller driveways may require only manual labor. Be sure to wear protective gear when removing material from the old driveway.

2. Level Out the Area – After the old concrete has been removed, it’s time to level out the area. Make sure the area is free of debris and that there are no large bumps or dips in the surface. This can be done with a shovel, rake and other tools.

3. Install the Forms – Once the area has been leveled out, it’s time to begin installing forms for the new driveway. This includes any edging or borders around the perimeter as well as any drainage features such as catch basins or swales down either side of the driveway. 

4. Pour Concrete – After all of the forms have been installed, concrete can then be poured into place to form a smooth and level driveway surface. Depending on climate conditions, you may need to wait several days before continuing onto further steps in order to ensure the concrete has had time to properly cure.

5. Finish the Surface – Once the concrete has been poured and cured, it’s time to finish up by troweling any rough spots or edges and sealing the surface with a protective sealant that will protect from water damage, UV rays and other elements.
